Collins Performance always tests each individual part and how they interact we other tuning items on our in house rolling road to make sure we only pick the best parts for our packages
Our latest upgrade package compares well to some of our direct competitors wheel power claims and offers excellent value for money.
We strongly recommend that all customers planning to run our CP2 package should first have their engines forged before installing this package upgrade
This is precautionary recommendation, based on information received regarding recent failures witnessed on competitors tuned packages cars running similar power as per our CP2v2
While we had carried extensive testing with the CP2v2, prior to the software launch, on a number of cars over a two year period with zero issues, we consequently felt that we should edge on the side of caution with the precautionary recommendation to all customers
For those looking for a great software but not wanting to forge the engine our recently launched CP1 2020 offers an excellent alternative to CP2v2 as it offers similar power to the old CP2 (approx. 295-305bhp) with less aggressive map running lower boost levels

Note: There no requirement for a bigger intercooler on both of the Focus ST250 CP software’s
We spent over 12 months on both the road and dyno evaluating and testing the each of the standard components on the car during the development of CP1 2020 and CP2v2 software
The standard factory intercooler is from the RS MK2 and is happy even on a track day for applications over 330bhp – during extensive testing we never saw more than +10 deg C over ambient under full load which is the approximate target that we work too
What can be miss leading when data logging the IAT’s on this model is the shutter system, ahead of the intercooler, when closed (when cruising etc) showing a major increase in IAT’s which can cause owners data logging their cars concern – However the moment the shutters open the IAT’s immediately plummet back down to normal levels
What we would recommend/suggest is the removal of the shutter system as the mechanism can be prone to sticking shut
